North Pottery Membership Terms & Conditions
1. Welcome
We’re excited to have you in our studio community! These terms help create a smooth, respectful environment for everyone. By joining, you agree to the following:
2. Membership Options
• 12 hours/month – £80
• 24 hours/month – £120
Unused hours do not roll over and must be used within the same month.
Membership pricing will be reviewed annually each June.
3. Payment & Deposit
• A £100 refundable deposit is required. This covers potential damages and your studio key.
Replacement keys will incur a £50 replacement charge (so keep them safe!)
• Monthly membership payments are made via bank transfer or standing order.
• Your deposit is returned within 14 days of ending your membership, minus any applicable deductions.
4. Studio Access
• Book time using our online system.
(Max 5 members in the studio at one given time, booking on first come basis, memberships will be limited to give everyone fair access)
• Access is permitted only outside of scheduled classes and workshops.
• Members will receive a personal key, this must not be shared.

Monday 09:00-17:00
Tuesday 09:00-21:00
Wednesday 09:00-12:00
Thursday 09:00-12:00 & 18:00-21:00
Friday 09:00-12:00 & 18:00-21:00
Saturday 18:00-21:00
Sunday 12:00-21:00
6. What’s Included
• Use of studio equipment (wheels, worktables, communal tools*)
• Shared studio dipping glazes.
• Shelf space for works in progress
Please bring your own apron, tools** and clay (clay is available to purchase from the studio).
*Communal tools must been cleaned and returned back to storage after each use.
Communal tools include:
Banding wheels
Plastic Buckets
Measuring Jugs
Glazing Tongues
Rolling pins/ Guides
Mop & Bucket
Scales
**Class tools are not to be used for general use in the studio.
7. Damage & Liabilities
At North Pottery, we treat all work with the highest level of care and respect. However, due to the nature of ceramics, there is always a possibility that pieces may become damaged during handling or firing.
North Pottery accepts no responsibility or liability for any damage resulting from equipment malfunction, handling issues, insufficient technical execution, or unexpected glaze outcomes. Once a piece enters the firing process, no refunds will be issued regardless of the result.
North Pottery also reserves the right to inspect all work prior to kiln loading. We may decline to fire any pieces that present construction or glaze concerns, pose a potential risk to our equipment, or raise health and safety issues.
8. Member Responsibilities
• Clean all tools and surfaces after your session
• Clearly label your work with name and date
• Respect the studio schedule and other members
• Take home all personal items after each session (no lockers provided)
9. Kiln Use
• Kilns are operated by studio staff only for safety reasons
• Speak to a staff member to arrange firing of your work
10. Studio Etiquette
• Share tools and space with respect
• No food or uncovered drinks in the studio
• Leave your space clean and ready for the next person (This is a must, and if cleanliness isn’t kept to a high standard this will result in membership being cancelled)
11. Safety
• Members must be confident working independently
• All new members receive a studio induction
• Report any damages, hazards, or accidents promptly
12. Ending Membership
• One month’s written notice is required via email northpottery@gmail.com
• Deposits are refunded within 14 days, subject to deductions
• Uncollected work is kept for two weeks, then discarded
